Forest of Lizana and hermitage of San Román.

Route description

The high plateau on the left bank of the river Alcanadre at the height of Barbuñales is mainly occupied by huge fields of cereal crops, but there are also small patches of vegetation such as the Lizana Forest, an elongated holm oak forest that still conserves the original flora of the area.

The route starts in a northerly direction from Barbuñales and runs along the length of the Lizana Forest until it turns right towards Ponzano. After crossing Ponzano, the route goes around the hermitage of San Román and, after a turn of almost 180 degrees, heads towards Barbuñales, all the while passing through fields of crops.
