Through a network of visitor and interpretation centres, Somontano offers infinite possibilities for leisure, culture and discovery; a wide and varied offer of cultural tourism to be enjoyed throughout the year. There is something for everyone; for lovers of art, local traditions, legends or ethnography; for those looking to uncover trades that no longer exist or wanting to delve into pre-industrial patrimony and for nature lovers, gastro-nuts and wine enthusiasts.

In the section entitled “agenda” there is a full list of the opening hours of all the centres to help you plan your visit.

Many of the museums within the Somontano regional boundaries reveal the rich historic past of the region through a number of fine works of art. In the Museum of Sacred Art in Alquézar and in the Diocesan Museum in Barbastro, there are exceptional pieces on display; paintings, Romanesque sculpture, splendid Gothic altars, Renaissance art and Baroque imagery as well as a splendid collection of fabrics, tapestries and gold and silver work. A visit gives an insight into the past 1,000 years of the history of art through a variety of unique pieces. The museum of the Claretian Martyrs in Barbastro completes the religious tourism offer in the region and Casa Fabián in Alquézar highlights the ethnographic heritage of Somontano.
