The Sierra de Guara Mountains and Canyons National Park (declared as such in 1998) is one of the largest protected areas in Aragon. It stretches over an area of 81,225 hectares, 17,668 of which belong to the Somontano region. It is incorporated into the Natura 2000 Network, has been declared as a SCI (Site of Community Importance) and is also an official Bird Protection Area. (ZEPA)

In addition to these spectacular natural attractions, the intricate terrain also preserves ancient artistic remains, the oldest in the whole of Aragón.

Cave paintings and dolmens, medieval churches and castles, bridges, and centuries-old paths bear witness to the constant presence of man on the mountain landscape..

The Information Centre for the Sierra de Guara Mountains and Canyons at Bierge is a must to obtain an overall view of the park and to learn about the wealth of attractions it holds.
