Built on a small hill known as the Tozal de las Forcas, this baroque building has been used as both a shrine and a convent in successive eras of its history. The primitive church, consecrated in 1740, was extended in 1856 with two lateral wings to house monks. In 1913 it became home to a community of Franciscan-Clarisa nuns and has also been used as a school and a tannery, the latter also used as a place to make warm clothes.
