The original town hall was erected at the end of the 15the century under the supervision of the Moor Farag de Gali, master builder to King Fernando the Catholic. The current building is the result of significant renovation in 1950 and boasts attractive wooden eaves, deep-set windows on the top floor and a balcony finished by a forged railing that opens from the main floor of the building.
The town hall is home to valuable historic archives made up of over 1000 files. The oldest document is a charter from 1115 confirming Alfonso I jurisdiction over Barbastro.
