The final years of the 19th century and the start of the 20th century represent another significant era to have left its imprint on Estadilla, specifically in the Plaza Mayor. (Main Square.) Coinciding with the slow growth of the new middle classes made up of liberal professionals, small business owners and merchants, a number of buildings with a distinctly bourgeois and urban air about them were built. They are not particularly notable from a historical or artistic point of view but are markedly different from the traditional style of rural houses, with sober facades and arched doorways, yet fit in well with the heterogeneous atmosphere of the square.
