Access

On the A-22 take exit 77 to Abiego (heading road A-1229). Thereafter, in Abiego, take road A-1227 towards Bierge until you reach Morrano (7 km). In Morrano, follow the signposts to Huevo de Morrano. You will pass some cultivated fields, across the road, until you reach a parking from which you already see the rocky formation.


Route description 

Circular route marked as “Huevo de Morrano”, which starts out in the village of Morrano. The route runs from the begining to the end through an agroforestry mosaic of holm oak and oak groves, sprinkled with cultivated and almond fields, it then goes into a wild pine (Pinus sylvestris) grove, and ends up in a rock formation of sandstone and conglomerate, the Peña Falconera, with a rocky atmosphere

Winter visitors: Northern Goshawk, Merlin, Eurasian Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Alpine Accentor, Fieldfare, Song Thrush, Eurasian Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Wallcreeper, White-winged Snowfinch (rare), Brambling (rare), Eurasian Siskin (irruptive), Hawfinch, Yellowhammer.

Passage migrants: European Honey-buzzard, Harriers, Common Crane, Eurasian Woodcock (rare), Tree Pipit, Water Pipit, Common Redstart, Northern Wheatear, Redwing, Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, Common Whitethroat,  Pied Flycatcher.
