This small chapel is perched on the highest part of a cliff, and boasts exceptional views of the rugged needles and huge rocks of the mysterious Mascún canyon.

The chapel’s 12th century apse is the oldest part of the building and was originally constructed inside a small fortified enclosure, the remains of which can hardly be seen.  In the 17th century the nave was enlarged and a new section added.

It was once the tradition to make a pilgrimage to the chapel from Rodellar every 25th of March. The villagers would proudly carry the statue of the Virgin Mary on a pedestal despite the harsh nature of the route.
